Spa & Eco-Tourism

Ecotourism is a form of tourism involving visiting fragile, pristine, and relatively undisturbed natural areas, intended as a low-impact and often small scale alternative to standard commercial mass tourism.

Increasingly used in application with Spa, specifically in the spas on which I am working.  To be able to reflect the natural provenance of the spa surroundings within the operational function really is an extraordinary, yet enjoyable challenge.

Eco Spa, the way forward???

Progressively, feedback from clients and guests alike show both an interest and an evident active awareness in promoting this further.
For me personally this is now extended to building design and local environment pertinent to that.

Additionally to be able to incorporate the beliefs into an entire skincare range is most satisfying.  Clearly we don’t use the word ‘tourism’ in this vein, but sustainable sourcing of ingredients, and to purport the bee colonies and their natural habitat is a pleasure to support.  Of course I refer to Tribe517 here.

I would be really interested to hear your thoughts within the spa community.  Is it relevant in business today, and the selection of product ranges we choose to use.  Value a discussion on this, and does a spa guest select their venue with this discerning attitude in mind increasingly or not at all?
